Sunrise Academy ("we", "our", "the Academy") operates the Sunrise Academy Parent App, used by parents and guardians to manage their child's academy account, attendance, payments, and communication with the Academy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

• Parent account information: username, password (stored securely as a hash, never in plain text), email address, phone number.
• Child information: name, date of birth, class assignment, attendance records, developmental evaluation notes, and photos related to bus pickup/drop-off verification.
• Location data: pickup/drop-off GPS coordinates, submitted only when a parent activates the school bus service for their child.
• Payment information: payment amounts, dates, and methods. Card and bank details are handled directly by our payment processor (AFS/OPPWA) and are never stored on our servers.
• Messages and attachments: messages exchanged between parents and Academy staff, including any images or documents attached.
• Push notification token: a device identifier used to deliver notifications (e.g. payment reminders, announcements) via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

2. How We Use This Information

• To operate your child's enrollment, attendance, and billing records.
• To process fee payments through our payment gateway.
• To send you notifications, receipts, and messages related to your child's account.
• To verify bus pickup/drop-off location and safety.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with:

• AFS/OPPWA — our payment gateway provider, to process fee payments.
• Firebase (Google) — to deliver push notifications to your device.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and child records for as long as the child is enrolled, and for a reasonable period afterward as required for our administrative and legal record-keeping obligations.

5. Children's Privacy

This app is designed for use by parents and guardians, not by children directly. Child information is entered and managed by the parent/guardian account holder, not collected directly from the child.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below.
